I always like to point out the talents of one of my favourite guitarists, Mr. Hillel Slovak. Hillel had a great sound and was one of the founding members of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He played guitar on several of their albums in the 80's including "Freaky Styley", which is my favorite Chili Pepper album. Everyone should check out that record; it's full of color, imagination and fun (that's a good way to describe Hillel's playing. I would add that he had that weight of soul in his playing to). Fortunately if you search Hillel Slovak on youtube.com there is a wealth of great live footage of him with the Peppers and some interviews. Sadly, he passed in 1988. He left us wonderful music.
